If you have used NTFS formatted USB sticks or External HDs you may have faced this problem. whenever you try to copy a file to that device you will get an error saying This destination is read-only. if you are familiar with Linux you might have tried copying that as the super user or run nautilus as super user and then copy that file or try to change the permissions. whatever it is you may or may not succeed. So, i will suggest you a more simpler method to solve that problem. for that you need to have super user privileges and internet connection to download two small packages. first open the terminal and then type thissudo apt-get install ntfs-3gso, it will install ntfs-3g if it-s not there on your system. then you have to install ntfs-config to do that type thissudo apt-get install ntfs-config after doing this simply run ntfs-config in your terminal as the super user.with this GUI anyone can enable the write support for the NTFS devices. also if you are an experience linux user you can edit /etc/fstab and achieve the same
